Tommy Lester’s name has been legally changed to “Depo” in honor of “Friday”

TMZ got Tommy’s Death certificateAnd while the cause of death has not been officially determined yet … there was one interesting nugget that we noticed. His full name reads Tommy Depot Lister, totally different from his reported birth name … Thomas Duane Lister Jr.

It is interesting for a number of reasons. Tommy is clearly most famous for his portrayal of Deebo in the “Friday” franchise – and, no, we didn’t write that mistake … but it looks like Tommy did. In any case, it’s absolutely clear that he liked the character – so much so that he actually made it a part of his realistic identity … and chose that instead of “Tiny”, his long public nickname.

Its director, Cindy Kwan, He told TMZ that he made the change in a Los Angeles court about 6 months ago – because he felt his fans and the public at large knew him simply from “Friday.”

As we said … the cause of Tommy’s death is now pending – it’s listed as “deferred” in the document, which just means they’re still getting tested.

Remember, however, many in Tommy’s immediate circle believed it was COVID-19. He’s been incredibly sick in his final days – and this is evident in the many different videos he’s been in – and he had already contracted the virus earlier this year.
