LG She teased her foldable phone Yesterday at CES, and now the company confirms that it is a real product that will be available in 2021. The LG Rollable has what the company calls a “unique scalable screen” that extends from a phone to a small tablet screen. The screen slides in and out of place to create more screen space.
“Our management wanted to show that it is a real product, as there have been many rumors about the foldable phone,” said a LG spokesperson at Statement for Nikki. “Given its release at CES 2021, I can say it will be launched this year.”
Nikki It also reported that LG is working with Chinese BOE Technology Group on rotatable screen technology. LG has yet to confirm which display technology Rollable uses, or any details about the different display sizes.
LG has started working on Rollable as part of the company’s “Explorer Project” experiences. The company used this project to launch it previously LG Wing phone, With a rotating design and two OLED displays.
Now that LG has named its new LG Rollable phone and confirmed that it will be on the market this year, we are likely to witness a race between phone manufacturers to bring out the foldable screen technology. TCL also showed Future phone concepts back in March, and Oppo joked A concept device with an expandable OLED screen late last year.
